Studio Leaks . Info

So Studioleaks' owner Koolo is the person who has been dropping the Eminem leaks lately, just recently leaking an Eminem EP: Straight From The Vault (which you can find on studioleaks.info , you will have to make an account and can find it in the exclusive section).

On his forum Koolo has stated that he will be leaking other artists' songs now, not focusing on just Eminem.

Interesting to see where this will go.

Also by the way, I have a new video up, it's an entry for a contest in which I have progressed to the second round, check it out here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NOFaldS0ta0 - thumbs up, comment, favorite and help me win!

Reader member thing count

Since I'm not an admin to the blog, I figured I'd ask our readers how many people actually read these. I can only so far see three, so if you actually read our posts, please comment on this and make up a username, because we might have a forum within the next month or two, depending on our free time.

New Google Chrome Update

Google Chrome just updated, and it now has it's own app store. It already had an extension store, where they were all free. It now has extensions, apps, games, themes, all featured it's own store, that looks like the iTunes store. I actually like it a lot. I want a mac, but since I'm poor as hell (cuz I can't get a job that's any good), and my parents won't get me one. This is basically the same thing, but just in a web browser. It has payed, and free apps. Just like the app store. I don't care if it's an exact copy of the iTunes store.
It also features Atari games from the 2600 and a few flash games. It's awesome.

I love it.

Lady Gaga "Born This Way" Review

Before I start the review, I would like to state I have a tendency to be biased against mainstream artist such as Lady Gaga, so my review may reflect that. Do not flame me for my opinions, because that is what this is.

The Instrumental: Sounds like every other pop beat out nowadays. For a person who has an ability to get basically any producer she wanted I would expect a more original, better beat.

The Vocals: Didn't surprise or impress me in anyway. Again just another pop song.

The Lyrics/Theme: The theme has a amazing meaning and thought, and could have made a great, meaningful song, but the lyrics didn't hold up. I didn't feel the words, it seemed like it was to generic.

Overall: Overall the entire song reminded me of "When Love Takes Over" By David Guetta & Kelly Rowland but with a less interesting (in vocal abilities and style) singer and a more generic pop beat. Personally I think it could have been a great song, but didn't reach it's potential. However knowing the normal music listener it'll be called the greatest song ever and will only give me more of a reason to put on headphones than listen to the radio and hear a bunch of "Little Monsters" singing the song.

Garageband Recording Tips & Tricks 1

okay, so for all my music I use Garageband to record, edit & finalize my stuff, so here are some of the techniques I use. There are probably better ways to do it, this is just my way.

1. Panning out to get a 'Stereo' sound

For rapping vocals you usually don't want to record to separate tracks for both sides, so you would duplicate the layer containing your vocals, pan 1 slightly to the left (about 15%) and the other slightly to the right (also 15%), then add some reverb (or increase the reverb) to one of the layers a bit (10 or so) and add a slight echo to the other layer (4-5) and this small differentiation in sound will make the output sound more full and strong.

For pop, rock, rnb, ect. (this isn't always the best, just depends on the song style). You just want to separately record to tracks, the thing is the timing must be on point, don't be lazy, get it perfect! then lean one track to the left and one to the right (not by much) alternatively you can record 3 tracks, push 2 to either side at a stronger level and leave the other one in the middle for a powerful sound.

If your recording an entire band (separately) you can pan each instrument to a different area to create a more "live" feel.

For rappers to create a strong presence on certain words or phrases you can record ad-libs. Basically you would just be recording another layer and only say/rap the words/phrases you want to strengthen. You can also add an echo or other effects to the ad-libs to make them stronger/last longer, or record them differently than you did originally (like maybe hold the last word longer to help your vocals flow a little better and smoother.

Well this is my first "Garageband Help Article" I'll probably do more of these as I see fit, so check back and email me or comment any questions or topics I should cover.

WTF?!

I just found out Hollywood Undead's new member's stage name. Or it's probably his real name. It's Danny. Just, Danny. Nothing creative like Johnny 3 Tears, or Deuce (I know he's not in the band anymore, I'm just making an example), but it's something retarded. Danny.
GOD I hate that name. It's just dull. Ugh. They need to change it. Don't get me wrong, I like Danny (not the name, his skill), but having your persona something as simple as a first name is just lazy.
